I don’t know anything about other models from this brand, but I am fully satisfied with this product. I am very happy with the purchase. It is definitely worth its money. The product is top-notch! The material is stylish, but it smells for the first couple of days. I really enjoy the design. It is compact, comfortable and reliable. And it looks amazing!

I like this product. For such a low price, I didn’t even hope it to be any better. It’s decently made. The design quality is top notch and the color is nice. Seems that the material is good. It has a very beautiful color but I don’t really like the texture. I really liked it. It is amazing in every aspect. It did even exceed my expectations for a bit, considering the affordable price.

motorcycle stands Buyer’s Guide

If you keep the before points in mind, you can easily go out to the market and buy motorcycle stands, right? No!

Venom Triple Tree Headlift

This front wheel stand from Venom is a little pricey to be sure. It does however come with compatibility to a wide range of sportsbikes from the big Japanese bike makers as well as Ducati and BMW.

In fact it turns out that many people who were perfectly reasonable in their expectation that their bikes would work with this stand had some sort of issue.

CHN FW-1

The FW-comes with lift pins for five different sizes that CHN says are the most popular, and it also has four wheels. One nice idea is that the stand can be configured to lift the bike by the steering head tube, which means that you can even remove the fork during maintenance.

Assembly is apparently so easy that a child can do it. A minority of people seem unhappy with the build quality, but the overwhelming majority are happy with their purchase and you also have to keep the price in mind when evaluating fit and finish.

I think this is probably the ideal lift for the biker on a budget.

Pit Bull Hybrid Dual Lift

What makes this hybrid lift stand so special is the fact that you can convert it from one lift style to the other. You can either set it to lift from the forks or from the lower triple tree. It has seven indexed height settings.

Rollers are a whole different ball game; instead of attaching your bike to the trainer, as in the above models, you attempt to ride the bike on the rollers themselves, trying not to fall flat on your face! Certainly takes some practice, but rollers are a great way to work on your balance and positioning.

Top bike rollers  for a guide to the very best rollers out there.

Flip Up

You might have seen them before, they look like a normal full face lid but you can press a button and pull the front of the helmet up so your face is out in the open. They’re a useful helmet since you can flip them up and go in to the shops without taking it off and because you won’t be going at high speed for long stretches of time e.g the motorway you can have it flipped up while you ride if the weather warms.

Selecting the right shell

When you’re looking at helmets it’s good to keep in mind that although there’s a lot of different graphics to choose from, each manufacturer will only use a few different shells in each style of helmet but this does depend on the size of the brand and what types of helmets they specialize in. Another thing that can help you choose the right helmet for you is the number of shell sizes available in the model you are looking at.

Every size of helmet doesn’t have it’s own shell size with most helmet models having about shell sizes with a smaller on going from XS-M and a slightly bigger shell for sizes L-2XL. We recommend if your head is either an XS or a 2XL helmet size you should go for a model that has atleast shell sizes since this means the overall shell will be closer to the size of your head and not over filled with padding liner to make up for the extra space or liners are minimized for the same reason, which could affect how well the helmet performs in a crash.

Features

Hopefully that past 2000+ words has given you as a first time rider some useful tips and advice that will come in handy when looking for your first motorcycle helmet. At LDMotorcycles.co.uk we are committed to not only pushing out high value products to older more experienced riders, but helping the younger learner or first time riders get a grip on what they should know about clothing and making sure that our range serves you products that fit in budget and look in trend. It’s impossible for us to answer every question in one post which is why we make it extra easy to get in contact with us and ask questions either over the phone, on WhatsApp or just by clicking the ‘Ask us a question’ button underneath the Add to Cart button on every product page.

Cold Blooded

You want it cold! This is one of my favorite tips. When you first go to look at a bike, let the seller know not to crank it and warm it up. A warm engine is easy to start and can hide many tuning issues. A cold engine, however, can show the weak links in the chain.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

It’s all about respect—show up on time, don’t insult them, and don’t screw around.

Take pride in their ride. This is a piece of machinery that has established an emotional connection with the seller, so compliment it.

Have a reason why you want to pay less money. For example, list out the parts or the back fees, and express to them your budget. Don’t simply say, “It’s junk and not worth the asking price.” Be kind, respectful and patient. Compliment the item and if you make them a lower offer than the asking price, don’t insult them. Make it clear that it’s how much you can spend, not how much you personally think it’s worth, at least not without indisputable evidence.

Condor SC-2000 Trailer-Only Chock

Soft-bristled brushes are useful for removing softened mud and road grime, while ones with stiffer bristles should make easier work of lifting stubborn dirt.

Choose a kit that contains brushes of varying shapes and bristle stiffness. A large, soft-bristled brush or sponge is good for the frame and wheels, and a cone-shaped brush is better for hard-to-reach areas.

A toothbrush-type brush with stiff curved bristles can be used for cassettes and mechs, and you’ll also want a brush to use when applying degreasers.

Degreaser

Degreasers break down grease and grime without brute force, and are ideal for getting the built up greasy crud off your drivetrain and cassette. There are eco-friendly options available too, such as the Weldtite Pure degreaser shown above.

Degreaser is used to clean your chain and other moving parts. Keeping the drivechain clean is vital. If ignored, dirt will speed up wear throughout the transmission, impact on shifting performance and reduce efficiency. It’s possible to get really vicious with removing every molecule of muck from a chain by dunking it in petrol, although that risks removing all the lubrication from inside the rollers and pins.

A chain cleaning sponge (essentially a sponge with a groove cut into the top) makes cleaning a chain easy — just grab the chain in the sponge’s groove and turn the cranks. There are also lots of drivetrain-specific brushes available for cleaning chainrings, cassettes and chains.

Protect your bike with a Teflon polish

Once your bike is free from dirt, the last job is to add a protective polish to the frame and components. Sprays that contain a moisture dispersant and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, which is what Teflon is), are good choices.

The dispersant expels water from the bike, protecting it against corrosion, while the PTFE creates a shiny finish where applied. The advantage of using a product such as this is that dirt finds it harder to stick to the PTFE, making your bike easier to clean next time round.

Lifting height range

An important thing to consider when deciding what lift to buy is the minimum and maximum height the platform can be raised. You want a lift that allows you to access the underside of your motorcycle with ease. If your bike has large tires or if you are a large individual, you may need a jack that can lift the vehicle higher off of the floor.

Carriage width

To put it simply, the carriage width is the distance between the two edges of the support platform. A larger carriage will be needed for a larger bike. In general, a larger platform means your bike will be less likely to wobble or topple over.

If the lift is particularly wide, you can use it for other vehicles such as ATVs, snowmobiles, or jet skis.

Base frame footprint

Most people use lifts to access the underside of a bike for cleaning or repairs. The size of the jack’s footprint can make all the difference in terms of stability- smaller footprints increase the likelihood of tipping. However, lifts with exceptionally large footprints can inhibit access to the middle portion of the motorcycle.

It is important to not only think about the size of the base frame but also its rigidity. An inadequately rigid frame can cause the platform to dip in the middle or even bounce excessively under the weight of a heavy motorcycle.

Unfortunately, this is not something you can visually determine. A good rule of thumb is that larger footprints mean the frame is less rigid but more stable; smaller footprints mean that the frame is more rigid but less stable.

Manufacturer’s reputation

Most importantly, do your research. Go online and find out what other people are saying about the lift and the company that makes it. Motorcycle lifts last longer and require less maintenance when they are produced by a high-quality manufacturer. Craftsmanship can make a huge difference in terms of stability and strength.

Gas Treatment

For fuel injection systems, I simple fill the tank with fuel, add fuel stabilizer, run it for a few minutes, and shut it off. This allows the stabilizer to get throughout the fuel-injection components. This simple process has worked for over a decade, and every summer when I rip things apart for cleaning the fuel system, all parts have remained relatively gunk free.

For carburetors, shut the petcock off and either drain the fuel float bowls, or run engine until its starved for gas. Fill up fuel tank and add stabilizer to keep the inside of the tank moisture-free.

Exhaust Prep

Once this process is complete. I use a plastic bag, such as a grocery bag, to insert into the pipe and then wrap the access around the outside of the pipe, securing it to the tip with a rubber band. This keeps varmints out, which like to nest inside the exhaust during the winter months.

Use the Correct Cover

The most ideal situation is a well-ventilated area anywhere indoors. This keeps air circulating, and no moisture from building up inside the cover. Also, make sure there are no open fertilizers or other chemicals around the bike. If present, these chemicals can speed up corrosion.

1Forget These Storage Tips

The Zummo 66GPS by Garmin comes with a 4.inch screen, built-in radio and you can check the weather channel or look for detailed traffic information. You are also going to be able to get speed limit warnings and this is going to enhance your experience even more in order for you to have a safe drive and avoid a ticket.

Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx

The GPSMAP 60CSx by Garmin is an excellent GPS unit that is meant to be able to handle the wear and tear of the road. It offers a whopping 1hours of battery life to the users. The best thing about this unitishow easy it is to read it even when you have sunlight hitting it directly. This is a great advantage when you are riding your bike and you want to have a clear view of the GPS as you give it a glance. The screen is a 2.inch display.

Make Sure it is Easy to Use

Among others, one of the most important is for the jack to be user-friendly. Similar to the other items that you have in the garage, it should be straightforward to use. It will also be good if the manufacturer provides detailed instructions on how to make the most out of the product.

For the motorcycle jack to be easy to use, it needs to be a hydraulic system and should come with a foot-operated pedal. With this, the pressure that is exerted on foot will lift the motorcycle at the desired height.

Look at the Materials Used

Like other products, the materials that are used are important because they will have an impact on durability. In the case of motorcycle jacks, aluminum and steel are some of the most common materials. Be sure that the material is lightweight so that it can be easy to move around. In the same way, it must be strong enough so that it will remain in its peak condition even after a long time of use.

OTC 154Motorcycle Lift

Among other things, the stability of this motorcycle jack is one thing that is worth commending. The latter will make sure that it will not move while you are working on basic repairs. Also, because it comes with wheels, you will also enjoy the freedom to easily move it from one place to another, depending on where you intend to have the work done.

The saddle lifting platform is one of the best parts of this jack. The latter has a length of 1inches and width of 14.inches. With this, it will be exceptional in terms of the even distribution of the weight of your motorcycle. There are also ratchetting straps that will allow you to conveniently secure your bike.

Lastly, this jack is made from an aluminum body. Although the latter is lightweight, it is a good thing that it can support up to 1,500 pounds of weight.

With its generous weight capacity and foot pedal system, coupled with the fact that the manufacturer is offering warranty for two years, this is another option that is worth taking into account.
